What’s your name?
Sonita Michelle
What’s the name of your business?
Sonita Michelle Esthetics
Where are you based?
Chattanooga, Tennessee
What inspired you to become an esthetician?
I started out selling cosmetics and my clients were the inspiration to get licensed.
What is your specialty?
I like to consider myself a “full-service” Esthetician, however I am known for my premium brow services and lash extensions.
What is your signature technique and approach to skincare?
My signature technique is the “Brow Trim, Wax, and Shape.” I take care of your brows like as a hairstylist would take care of your crown.
What’s your skincare regimen?
I launched my own line of spa-grade skincare in 2019, by the name of Skin Techs Cosmetics. I use it faithfully every day!
The Coconut, Honey & Aloe Cleanser is my daily cleanser. I go behind that with the Microdermabrasion Scrub (three times a week), Balancing Toner, Vitamin C Serum, and Oil-Free Moisturizer. I do microdermabrasion treatments twice per month and a chemical peel at least once per month.
What’s your favorite serum?
Skin Techs Cosmetics Vitamin C Serum is my absolute fav right now!
What’s the one skincare product you can’t live without and why?
Skin Techs Cosmetics Coconut, Honey & Aloe Cleanser is my everyday go to!
What’s your go-to food or drink that you feel supports your skin or gives it a boost?
Iced Sweet Tea is my favorite! I am a true country gal!
Do you have any skin sins? If so, what are they?
I am so guilty of washing my face in a hot shower.
What celebrity or influencer or notable person is #skincaregoals?
There are so many, but right now it would be Nicki Minaj cause is she ever going to age? Not likely lol.
What esthetician would you love to get a facial from?
I would absolutely kill to have Melissa Odum, owner of Queendom Aesthetics! I love her!
If you’d like to share anything else . . .
I absolutely love what I do. I would like to consider myself the modern Black Esthetician. I am not one that does one thing, I own a full-service studio, offering over 30 services! I have worked very hard. I am going into my 6th year as a licensed professional and 12 years in the beauty industry total!
