What’s your name?

Anica Clowney

What’s the name of your business?

Still Me…Even Better

Where are you based?

Baltimore, MD

What inspired you to become an esthetician?

I worked as a makeup artist for years and seeing lots of different skin made me want to know more.

What is your specialty?

In the realm of esthetics, my specialty is sugaring. I am dual licensed and post-Covid, concentrating more on clients who need post-op lymphatic drainage and body contouring.

What is your signature technique and approach to skincare?

I believe in a philosophy of “follow the ingredients.” There are lots of great products and lines, but I’m less interested in the brand than what the product can/will accomplish for the client.

What’s your skincare regimen?

I love to try up and coming companies to see what they are capable of so it’s usually a mix of lines. Double cleanse, strong exfoliant, rose freshener and moisturizer with an SPF added.

What’s your favorite serum?

Right now, I’m testing Good Molecules Discoloration Correcting serum. Giving it 30 days to make a difference, so the jury is still out.

What’s the one skincare product you can’t live without and why?

100% oil cleanser. It can double as a serum/moisturizer.

What’s your go-to food or drink that you feel supports your skin or gives it a boost?

An acai bowl with antioxidant fruits like blueberries and pineapple. Of course, water is the ultimate drink, but a good smoothie is my go-to for a boost.

Do you have any skin sins? If so, what are they?

OMG. I am guilty of so many things at times, but I guess the biggest, is sleeping in makeup after a long night. Thankfully, I don’t wear it often anymore and my nights are shorter.  Most days I am bare-faced and in bed early.

What celebrity or influencer or notable person is #skincaregoals?

I think Queen Latifah/Ms. Dana Owens has amazing skin. It always seems to have great tone with a glow even fresh faced.

What esthetician would you love to get a facial from?

Definitely, Ms. Pamela Springer. With the knowledge she has, I know she would take my skin to the next level.
