Alaska’s Esthetician and Your Beauty Under One Crown

Adera Leonard, Esthetician in Anchorage

As we continue to celebrate Black History Month and begin celebrating the third annual National Estheticians’ Week (NBEW) and all of the trailblazers throughout the month, and especially this week of NBEW, it’s with so much joy and excitement that we share an esthetician from a whole new region of the country: Alaska!

As a trailblazing esthetician, Adera Leonard is helping to put the “land of the midnight sun,” on the map when it comes to esthetics.

Her “Everything Under One Crown” approach allows clients to get the royal treatment—a number of services in one place.

Read about how Skin Script products are one of her go-to choices when it comes to her own skincare regimen and the holistic esthetician she’d travel to for a facial.

What’s your name?

Adera Leonard

What’s the name of your business?

Adera’s “Everything Under One Crown”

Where are you based?

Anchorage, Alaska

What inspired you to become an esthetician?

What inspired me to become an esthetician was the need for a different take on esthetics in Alaska. There are many places to go, but not for multiple services nor for P.O.C.

What is your specialty?

The “pretty kitty” (Brazilian wax/vajacial)

What is your signature technique and approach to skincare?

Analyze the skin first. Get to know the clients’ skin before any treatment. Also, I highly recommend getting my client on a skin care routine to ensure the best results from the treatment.

What’s your skincare regimen?

It’s always changing! I start with the pomegranate antioxidant cleanser (double cleanse), cucumber toner, vitamin C serum , Cacteen moisturizer, along with peptide eye cream , and to finish, my SPF. At night, I do add a cold pressed oil to my routine.

What’s your favorite serum?

Green tea vitamin C serum (Skin Script)

What’s the one skincare product you can’t live without and why?

I can’t live without my cold pressed oil from the Ordinary. My skin is very dry living in Alaska so it always leaves my skin hydrated and glowy.

What’s your go-to food or drink that you feel supports your skin or gives it a boost?

I’d have to say water. I can tell when I’m incorporating enough water into my day because my skin doesn’t feel and tight or look dull.

Do you have any skin sins? If so, what are they?

My #1 skin sin is sleeping in makeup. Sometimes it’s a very long day and you forget. It’s so innocent, but I always preach against it, yet I’m terrible at remembering.

What celebrity or influencer or notable person is #skincaregoals?

My skin care goal celebrity has to be LIZZO

What esthetician would you love to get a facial from?

JadeyWadey180 she’s amazing and her space looks so calming.

Anything else you’d like to share?

What an amazing opportunity to be a part of such a great movement! I’m beyond honored and don’t forget to check out Alaska’s Esthetician.
